Call for Youth Climate Activists, Artists, and Scientists!

 

Are you passionate about advocating for climate change action?

Are you a NYC high school student?

Inspire wants you to participate in our concert, Can’t You Hear Us?!.

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

 

However, it will take place as soon as possible, and we are still eager to have youth participate in its creation!

This concert challenges us to face the emergency of climate change and to listen to the voices of our youth for whom this crisis will have the most dire consequences if left unchecked.
In partnership with and in support of 350NYC, Urban Word NYC, and the New York Society for Ethical Culture.

Join us onstage to sing at the concert!

 

Requirements:
 

  • Attend two rehearsals

  • Attend the performance at The New York Society for Ethical Culture, 
    2 W 64th St
     

Singers' name will be listed in the program and each will receive a complimentary ticket. You will also be offered two discounted tickets (50% off) for guests of your choice.

ARTISTS & POETS

 

Have your work displayed at our event!

Requirements:

  • Submit a completed work of creative writing or visual art (poem. reflection, drawing, painting, collage, illustration, photography, or any other art form that we can display on an easel or by hanging) addressing the Climate Crisis.

  • If selected, bring your work to the performance venue (New York Society for Ethical Culture: 2 W 64th St) before the event and take it home with you afterwards.
     

Selected submissions will be displayed at the event. Artists' names will be listed in the program, and each will receive a complimentary ticket. You will also be offered two discounted tickets (50% off) for guests of your choice.

ACTIVISTS & SCIENTISTS

 

Educate our Audience!

Every Inspire concert is followed by an opportunity for audience members and artists to connect with each other at a reception - to challenge the difficult issues confronted by our artists in concert critically over refreshment. 

Requirements:

  • Submit an index card design with information about the Climate Crisis that you believe our audience needs to know. This can include facts, action plans, and warnings. Be creative!
    Size: double sided 4.25'' x 5.5'' (ie. 4 can be printed on a regular 8.5'' x 11'' sheet of paper)

Selected card submissions will be printed and shared with our Artists who will in turn distribute them​ to audience members at our post-concert reception to initiate conversations and educate. Scientist and Activist are also invited to share their cards at the reception with our audience.

 

Scientist and Activists' names will be listed in the program, and each will receive a complimentary ticket. You will also be offered two discounted tickets (50% off) for guests of your choice.
