Sing, My Child
Words & Music by Sarah Quartel
Sing for the promise in each new morning.
Sing for the hope in a new day dawning.
All around is beauty bright!
Wake in the morning and sing, my child.
Dance in the joy of the day unfolding.
Dance as you work and dance as you're learning.
All around is beauty bright!
Take in the day and dance, my child.
But when evening comes and worry is all that can be found,
gather your strength and hear your voice.
Sing, my child.
Laugh in the cool and the fresh of the ev'ning.
Laugh in your triumph, laugh in succeeding.
All around is beauty bright!
Rest in the ev'ning and laugh, my child.
Peace in the stillness and dark of the night.
Peace in the dreams of your silent delights.
All around is beauty bright!
Sleep in the night and peace, my child.
Unclouded Day
Words & Music by Rev. J. K. Alwood
Oh, they tell me of a home far beyond the skies.
Oh, they tell me of a home far away.
Oh, they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise.
Oh, they tell me of an unclouded day.
Oh, the land of cloudless day.
Oh, the land of an unclouded sky.
Oh, they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise.
Oh, they tell me of an unclouded day.
Oh, they tell me of a home where my friends have gone.
Oh, they tell me of that land far away.
Where the tree of life in eternal bloom.
Sheds its fragrance through the unclouded day.
Oh, they tell me of a King in His beauty there.
They tell me that mine eyes shall behold.
Where He sits on the throne that is bright as the sun.
In the city that is made of gold.
No Reason To Despair
Words & Music by "Com" and Diana Lawrence
Arr. Diana Lawrence
Shivers down my spine.
Feeling out of line.
Frozen to the floor, can't think straight anymore.
All eyes fall on me.
Waiting patiently.
Whispers in my head,
or are they from the crowd instead?
I don't wanna hold the pressure,
I don't feel like I can measure,
waiting for a sunny day,
to melt the ice away.
I wanna go home
to gardens and green, soft grass,
snuggle up to stuffies,
and watch the storm pass,
gaming with best friends
and drawing 'til days end,
cherry blossoms in the air,
no reason to despair.
Too scared to speak up.
Completely out of luck.
Fear starts sinking in,
trapped inside of my own skin.
The room starts boiling,
and now I'm spiraling,
melting on the floor. I can't take this anymore.
I don't wanna hold the pressure,
I don't feel like I can measure,
keeping all the fear away
as I start to stray.
I wanna run outside
where your walls some crashing down.
Buzzing bees in the breeze,
fall leaves turning brown.
Digging into fox dens,
flying cardinals descend,
children playing together with care.
No reason to despair.
I don't wanna hold the pressure,
I don't feel like I can measure.
Life can feel like a mistake.
I just want to escape
to these happy places free of stress,
create these calming spaces where I can just rest.
Gaming with best friends
and drawing 'til days end,
digging down fox dens,
flying cardinals descend.
Life can be a lot to bear,
but there's no reason to despair.
We Walk In Love
Words & Music by Deanna Witkowski and Lemuel Colon
Please join in singing together!
We walk in love, united in purpose
We join our hands and lift up one voice
We speak the truth with strength and compassion
Resounding with hope, with courage and joy.
We cry for peace and rights for all people
We welcome friends from far and near
We fight for those whose voices are silenced
Resisting in faith until all are free.
We dream a world of justice and kindness
We build a bridge creating new paths
We march with joy as all walk together
Embracing each one, we boldly stand.
We walk in love, united in purpose
We join our hands and lift up one voice
We speak the truth with strength and compassion
Resounding with hope, with courage and joy.
The Planetarium Aquarium
Words & Music by "Cate" and Sophia Campoamor
Arr. Dan Rubins
An axolotl in a gallon size bottle,
going full throttle
to play the sax-o-lotl.
He lost a pottle from his bottle,
when playing the sax-o-lotl.
His sax-o-lotl got mottled,
and the poor axolotl had to throttle back home.
At the planetarium aquarium,
he has to swim up to floor four.
Next thing, he ran into an ancient dinosaur.
At the planetarium aquarium,
he has to move up to floor six.
And on his bed he found a bag of tricks. Ah!!
What The Bird Said Early In The Year
Words by C. S. Lewis & Music by J. A. C. Redford
I heard in Addison’s Walk
a bird sing clear:
This year the summer
will come true.
This year. This year.
Winds will not strip
the blossom from
the apple trees
this year,
nor want of rain
destroy the peas.
This year time’s nature
will no more defeat you,
Nor all the promised
moments in their passing
cheat you.
This time they will not
lead you round and back
to Autumn,
one year older,
by the well-worn track.
This year, this year,
as all these flowers foretell,
we shall escape the circle
and undo the spell.
Often deceived,
yet open once again
your heart,
Quick, quick, quick, quick!
– the gates are drawn apart.
If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking
Words by Emily Dickinson & Music by Shane W. Dittmar
If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.
Es Tu Tiempo
Words & Music by Francisco J. Núñez
Take a chance to believe in what you can be.
Take a chance to dream.
Dream a little dream,
Es tu tiempo.
Oh, mirando ya recuerdo
Estrañando, perdidos años
Ay, tu vida tan bonita
Es tu tiempo.
Oh, look at you. I remember
I was young once not long ago
Now it's your turn. Can you feel it?
Es tu tiempo.
c'mon children do your thing,
c'mon children shout and sing,
c'mon children it's your time.
Es tu tiempo.
Oh, Brillante vida fuerte
Sin tristeza, allegria
Una vida tan bonita
Es tu tiempo.
ma ray oh yai yai…
Los Angelitos te cuidan
En la calle noche y de dia soñando
Dreamers make a dream
Follow the moon, river and sea.
Take a chance to dream
Es tu tiempo.
Dreamland
Words & Music by "TT"
Arr. Ari Messenger
Oh, let's go to a place called dreamland
I'm seeing you there
and I don't know what to say
but watching you there all alone
I wish I could take you with me
far away
to a place where dreams come true
come with me
I'll keep you safe
so come let me take you away to this beautiful place and hope that this day will last a bit longer
let's take a walk in the park we can stare at the stars and just forget 'bout the past and focus on now
let's spend the rest of our lives eating cheese, drinking wine
maybe we can change the tides that's in our current lives
I want you to be mine
you'll be mine for all time
'cause you are like dreamland to me
I'm standing there
and all my doubts and fears all drift away
'cause being next to you
I just wanna stay for all time
you take me away
to a place where dreams come true
I'll come with you
I'll keep you safe
come stay with me
don't leave please
I'll keep you safe
and take you far away
to the land of your dreams
where I'll keep you safe
you'll never leave
we can watch the stars
take a walk in the park
your eyes are like dreamland baby
The Nightingale
Words & Music by William Byrd
The nightingale so pleasant and so gay.
In greenwood groves delights to make his dwelling.
In fields to fly chanting his roundelay.
At liberty against the cage rebelling.
But my poor heart with sorrows overswelling.
Through bondage vile, binding my freedom short.
No pleasure takes in these his sports excelling.
Nor of his song receiveth no comfort
The Road Home
Words & Music by Michael Dennis Browne
Adapt. Stephen Paulus
Tell me, where is the road
I can call my own
That I left, that I lost
So long ago?
All these years I have wandered
Oh, when will I know
There's a way, there's a road
That will lead me home.
After wind, after rain
When the dark is done
As I wake from a dream
In the gold of day
Through the air there's a calling
From far away
There's a voice I can hear
That will lead me home.
Rise up, follow me
Come away, is the call
With the love in your heart
As the only song
There is no such beauty
As where you belong
Rise up, follow me
I will lead you home.
Swedish Fish
Words & Music by "Cate" and Sophia Campoamor
Golden egg,
jam packed full of Swedish Fish.
Why is it called Swedish Fish?
Such a random name.
It can be any fish,
why choose Swedish Fish?
What about New York Fish?
Such a random name.
Are red Sour Patch Kids just imposters?
Were they Swedish Fish all along?
Why was there so many Swedish Fish in the egg?
What about chocolate?
I love both of them.
Sing To The Moon
Words & Music by Laura Mvula
Hey there, you, shattered in a thousand pieces, weeping in the darkest nights;
Hey there, you, try'na stand up on your own two feet and stumblin' through the sky.
Hey you, a broken soul, hold on, soon will be mornin'
Sing to the moon and the stars will shine over you, lead you to the other side.
Sing to the moon and the stars will shine over you, heaven's gonna turn the tide.
Hey there, you, looking for a brighter season, need to lay your burden down;
Hey there you, drowning in a helpless feelin' buried under deeper ground.
Never Try To Hide Your Pain
Words by “Bongocat” & Music by Jake Gluckman
Who could ever fake a smile on their face,
When their face is starting to break
Do you really think no one would notice if your body
Was starting to crumble?
Well everyone’s talking about it,
Don’t you hear the mumble?
People left and right asking “are you alright?”
You try to hide your cracks and say “don’t worry, everything is fine”
Parents, siblings, family, you don’t care, you just do the same.
Even the bullies are wary, you just try your best to hide it.
Never try to hide your pain
It’ll always be a strain
Make sure someone’s aware
Someone who cares and who can help repair the tears
How am I?
How are you?
Always asking questions, saying “are you feeling blue?”
Therapists quit
Because you can’t open up
Trying to find what’s wrong
You keep your mouth shut.
Look at the mirror
What do I see?
A broken person
The same one from elementary
The more I look and see
The more I see the cracks and tears on me
Tears that were never healed
Cracks that could never be sealed
Heartbreak, abuse, trauma
They never left
A tap on your shoulder, who could it be?
The ones who stick by you no matter what they see
Friends, family who’ll always have your back
The ones who didn’t care, who did not see the cracks?
Don’t know? Don’t care.
Don’t pay any mind,
They only kept those cracks from being sealed
The tears from being healed.
You Will Be Found
From Dear Evan Hansen by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul
Arr. Ari Messenger
Have you ever felt like nobody was there?
Have you ever felt forgotten in the middle of nowhere?
Have you ever felt like you could disappear?
Like you could fall, and no one would hear?
Well, let that lonely feeling wash away
Maybe there's a reason to believe you'll be okay
'Cause when you don't feel strong enough to stand
You can reach, reach out your hand
And oh, someone will coming running
And I know, they'll take you home
Even when the dark comes crashing through
When you need a friend to carry you
And when you're broken on the ground
You will be found
So let the sun come streaming in
'Cause you'll reach up and you'll rise again
Lift your head and look around
You will be found
There's a place where we don't have to feel unknown
And every time that you call out
You're a little less alone
If you only say the word
From across the silence your voice is heard
Out of the shadows
The morning is breaking
And all is new, all is new
It's filling up the empty
And suddenly I see that
All is new, all is new
You are not alone
It’s You I Like
Music & Lyrics by Fred M. Rogers
Arr. Ari Messenger
It's you I like,
It's not the things you wear,
It's not the way you do your hair
But it's you I like
The way you are right now,
The way down deep inside you
Not the things that hide you,
Not your toys
They're just beside you.
But it's you I like
Every part of you.
Your skin, your eyes, your feelings
Whether old or new
I hope that you'll remember
Even when you're feeling blue
That it's you I like,
It's you yourself
It's you.
It's you I like.
